The Big Short has won top prize at the Producers Guild Awards.
Christian Bale, Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling have made, “The Big Short”, a satirical comedy about the US financial crisis has been predicted as the winner of the best picture Oscar for the past eight years.
This hope was shattered when the the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice awards when it failed in the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice awards.
“We think this is the biggest move in 30-odd years of Oscar betting,” said a William Hill spokesman.
The producer, Dede Gardner was honoured at the event.
Fargo, Transparent and Game of Thrones were among the television programmes honoured at the event, held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles’ Century City district.
Lady Gaga, performed her Oscar-nominated song Till It Happens To You to entertain the audience.
