Maria is the second bulk carrier to be arrested in Singapore within a span of a month.

The Greek ship was arrested on 9th October 2015 ( Friday) following a legal action filed by law firm Joseph Tan Jude Benny LLP.

2010 built, 57,100 dwt vessel is valued at $13.96 million according to an assessment reported.  The most common reasons for such arrests can be attributed to payment disputes, although no specific reasons behind the arrest have been forthcoming so far.

German Conti Group’s bulk carrier Alexandrit was arrested last week following action taken by local law firm Oon & Bazul LLP in Singapore.
