Christmas Trees For Sailors

1855

The Hamburg Port Authority had released a video showing the Christmas traditions taking place at the Port of Hamburg.

For the last 19 years, the Port of Hamburg has been involved in the ‘Christmas Trees for Sailors’ initiative, which involves Father Christmas throwing Christmas trees directly onto the decks of ships for seafarers.

Ships stay longer at the port during Christmas.

Close to Christmas for 5 days throughout the year no work is done.
