Containership Allides in India

On October 13, a containership allided with the pier located at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port outside Mumbai.

What happened?

The CMA CGM containership identified as ‘CMA CGM Mumbai’ allided with pier located at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port outside Mumbai, India.

As a result of allision, the pier and the vessel sustained damages as well but the extent of the damages remains unknown.

Captain lost control of the vessel

Eyewitness reports conveyed that the vessel was coming in to dock at the port when it lost control and struck the pier despite efforts to stop the vessel.

An investigation has been launched into the incident and also to ascertain the extent of damages sustained due to the allision. Fortunately, no one was injured and no pollution to the environment was reported.
