On June 18, the U.S. Coast Guard officials reportedly said that a ship worker has died after falling about 50 feet while trying to connect a pipe to a crane on a vessel in the Houston Ship Channel.

Coast Guard officials say the accident happened Saturday afternoon.  Investigators say the victim apparently lost his balance.  The ship was sitting in Buffalo Bayou near Industrial Road when the incident happened.  The man was dead when emergency crews arrived, according to deputies.

The Coast Guard is investigating and the authorities didn’t immediately release the names of the worker or the ship that was in Buffalo Bayou when the man fell, landing on the vessel.

We will report more information when its available.
