Big tour to mark the big occasion, appears to be the motto of Tiens group of China which took 6400 employees (nearly half of the whole employee strength) to France to mark their 20th Anniversary celebrations.
Li Jinyuan, a Chinese billionaire arranged a vacation in France for 6400 Chinese employees spending €13 million (£9.5 million) on hotels, food and excursions, which includes a mass private viewing of the Louvre Museum and a trip to Moulin Rouge, a cabaret show.
With 147 buses the group went to Promenade des Anglais in Nice, and formed the phrase “Tiens dream is Nice in the Cote d’Azur”, the longest human made phrase.
Founded in 1995,Tiens group has a diverse business in Biotechnology, logistics, finance, property, tourism and retail. With 12000 employees in total, half of them went to France celebrating the 20th Anniversary.
Foreign travel has boomed:
The restrictions on foreign travel has been relaxed and a raising economic growth has created a boom in China for Overseas tourism. Statistics say that 107 million made overseas trip. Chinese tourist spends $164 billion a year which will rise to $264 billion by 2019.
Regretting the past:
“The pictures are shocking,” wrote one user, Zhouminghua, on Sina Weibo. “I’m afraid that they don’t understand and respect foreign cultures. We’ve suffered enough from this problem.”
