The design for the new buildings will be provided by CSSC’s 708 research institute. However, the financial deals and the delivery dates of the newbuilds were not revealed.

Earlier, London-based Lomar Shipping has ordered six 2,200 TEU box ships with Guangzhou Wenchong.

Guangzhou Wenchong revealed: “Under current adverse market conditions, the company has still been able to win orders and at the same time continue to enhance our product offering in container vessels.  We also expect to raise our global competitiveness.”
