President and CEO of K Line, Eizo Murakami Said:

I extend to you my sincerest wishes for a Happy New Year.

I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the past year and offer a look forward to the challenges ahead.

Although 2015 opened amid concerns of a return by the Greece-sparked European economic crisis, the economies of the developed countries actually remained relatively firm.

On the other hand, poor economic performance in emerging markets acted as a drag on growth.

As “K” Line Group plays an important role in global logistics, we cannot ignore international economic trends or circumstances.

During the first half of this fiscal year, we benefitted from falling fuel oil prices and a continually weakening yen.

Any effort to drive business forward toward a common goal requires the foundation provided by a strong organization.

We are implementing measures to prevent or reduce cases of long working hours.

Over the course of 2016, we will continue to execute our medium-term management plan and other important business plans and activities

The New Year Speech Highlights of MOL’s CEO Junichiro Ikeda :

Happy New Year to all our group members! I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on our progress, outline the challenges we face, and look ahead to how we will succeed in writing a new chapter in our group’s history.

I became CEO 6 months ago.  Initially, I spent 3-months conducting 23 meetings with every division.  The idea was to get all the participants involved.  There has been good progress after the decisions of these meetings.

I see the need to keep building awareness.  We need “resilience and flexibility”.

Have we all truly learned enough from our past experience? How does our corporate culture benefit from such lessons? Do our processes ensure safe operation? I ask you to critically reflect on your own personal experience.  Re-examine your team and everything you do in a detached, objective manner.

Recognize your strengths, believe in yourself and believe in your colleagues.  We must be willing to sweat together as we work to win the trust of our customers.
