Low Flash Point Residual Fuels Found in Singapore

1297

According to a media brief given by the Lloyd’s Register, FOBAS has tested a number of samples from Singapore last week which were ordered as ISO-F-RMG380 grades.

What’s the concern?

  • A number of these samples, when tested, revealed flash points below the 60°C SOLAS minimum limit.
  • The tested results ranged from 35 to 47 °C.
  • Any fuel with a flash point significantly lower than the SOLAS limit should be considered as an immediate safety concern.
