Oil Tanker Suspected to have Hit and Killed a Boat’s Captain

On late Thursday, a 62,000-ton oil-carrying tanker is suspected to have collided with a 4-ton shrimp boat killing the Captain of the boat off the southern port city of Yeosu, according to the police.

Rescue team pulled out the 58-year-old captain of the boat, only identified by his surname Kang, within half hour but was unable to save him.

Later, based on accident site investigation, the Coast Guard caught the tanker and reported to have taken the Russian captain into custody.
