Mr Mark Zuckerberg, a Harvard student (19-years-old then) founded Facebook in 2004 and it gained its billionth user in October 2012.  Now Facebook has a billion users in a single day, the milestone reached on Monday (24-08-2015).  It means 1 in 7 people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family.

The founder said about 1.5 billion users log in at least once a month.  He predicted that the reach of Facebook will continue to grow.  The maps in Facebook’s headquarters in California  show that the US, Europe and India are almost at peak but Africa, much of Asia and some of Latin America have gaps.  That’s where Facebook is focused on now.
