Pacific To Atlantic Via Panama

Every year nearly 13,000 to 14,000 ships pass through the Panama Canal.  It approximately takes eight hours for a vessel to pass the canal.  Every ship has to go through a system of locks which lifts the ship to a height of 85 feet before entering Lake Gatun, the world’s largest artificial lake.

This video shows how Teesta Spirit started its Journey at Balboa anchorage, passed through three such locks before reaching the Atlantic Ocean, its destination.  Capt. Vijay Suresh Rana has provided a fabulous footage of the ship’s transit through the Panama into the Atlantic.
