Quay Crane Hits Navigational Antenna Aboard Cargo Ship

On May 1, a navigational antennae onboard a cargo vessel was hit after it was damaged by a quay crane.

What happened?

The vessel ‘Xin Shanghai’ was involved in cargo unloading operations at the Fairview Container Terminal when its navigational antennae was damaged.

The navigational antenna collided with a quay crane at the terminal while the crane was being positioned.

Cargo vessel stuck at port

The cargo vessel is anchored at the airview Container Terminal and work is underway to restore its antennae and the vessel will not be able to leave until the antennae is fixed.

However, the traffic at the terminal was not affected due to this collision incident.
