Ship Captain: Natalie’s Husband Drank Whiskey and Not Search Her

1959

A ship captain has alleged that the husband of a missing person reportedly drank whiskey for over an hour instead of searching for his missing wife.

What happened?

A woman Natalie Wood reportedly drowned while on a sailing trip, off the coast of Catalina Island along with her husband Robert Wagner and friend Christopher Walken. After the woman was reported to have gone missing over the weekend and a subsequent search concluded that she had drowned.

Eyewitness accounts

While many unnamed eyewitnesses were interviewed, the captain of the boat Dennis Davern reported that the Robert Wagner, the husband of Natalie Wood were involved in a fight the night when she reportedly drowned.

When Natalie was reported missing, Wagner appeared not concerned and instead drank whisky for an hour before contacting the police. Wagner also allegedly refused to turn on the boat’s searchlights when Davern made the suggestion.

Wagner investigated

After the allegation and witness accounts, Wagner is now being called a person of interest by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s investigators. Police said that Wagner has refused to speak to them about Wood’s death, ever since it was reopened in 2011.

Corina said that when he did talk, he often had conflicting stories. Wagner, 87, has denied any involvement in Wood’s death many times. Woods was a famous Hollywood actor and reportedly drowned at the height of fame.
