Sinopec Refinery Explodes

A hydro-cracking facility in the Sinopec refinery in the Southern Chinese city of Guangzhou exploded on Thursday.  As announced by the local fire department on its microblog, the blast occurred on 0643 am local time that was followed by fire in the unit.

The reports state that the fire was brought under control in 90 minutes.  No casualties have been reported.

According to the market observers, this incident could delay the fuel shipments leaving the plant.
