US Navy Aircraft Crash: Eight Rescued Off Japanese Coast

On November 21, a US Navy aircraft reportedly crashed at Sea after suffering from engine failure.

What happened?

The US Navy aircraft was reportedly carrying eleven people including crew members and passengers when it crashed off the Coast of Japan.

After a preliminary investigation, the reason for crash has been suspected as the vessel might have encountered an engine failure.

The aircraft has been identified as a C-2 transport aircraft and it was enroute to another US aircraft carrier stationed in the Philippine Sea.

Eight people rescued:

Rescuers from both the Japanese and American side rushed to the stricken plane which was abandoned in the surrounding Sea off the remote Japanese reef of Okinotori.

Eight people were rescued by the rescue team and search is ongoing to locate the remaining team members.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the the sequence of events which lead to aircraft crash. The US navy vessel have been involved in increasing incidents of collision for the past few months.
