According to a Daily Star article, a Google Earth user had spotted an area in Antarctica that resembles a ‘capsized ship’.
What is it?
YouTube conspiracy theorist MrMBB333 – who was sent in the sighting by a subscriber – posted the bizarre footage last week.
He says the object has an ‘intelligent design’.
Hull of Ship Visible?
In the clip, a shape that bears some similarity to the hull of a ship can be seen protruding from the snowy landscape of Antarctica.
“This looks like some sort of capsized ship, whether it be a submarine or ship,” the YouTube user explains.
“This end looks like a rudder or a fin.”
“If you look towards the edges, it looks like some intelligent design and the centre bit looks like a hatch.”
“This is a new one, I’ve never seen this before.”
Viral Video Creates Doubt
The footage has been seen more than 110,000 times since it was posted to YouTube on September 12.
“There are a couple of ships crashed on Antarctica too,” one claimed.
Another suggested: “It has the same shape of the primary hull of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 D.”
While a third had a different view altogether, writing: “Crashed UFO?”
Nothing New in This Sighting?
Bizarre sightings of “ships” in the South Pole are nothing new.
Earlier this year, the same conspiracist believed he had found a German U-boat underneath Antarctica’s melting ice.
So-called truth-seekers believe the region is littered with remnants of Adolf Hitler’s army.
In 1937, the dictator sent expeditions to Antarctica in a bid to carry out scientific studies to allow Germany to become a self-supporting country.
But many think he actually built a secret base there.
