757

Whether you are transporting a mattress on the top of your car, moving some timber on an 18-wheeler, or transporting some pipes on a cargo ship, it is vitally important to make sure your load is properly secured.  Especially in the case of that last scenario, as these sailors found out the hard way.

The whole backstory of the Russian video—which surfaced on Reddit’s r/CatastrophicFailures—isn’t entirely clear, but the broad strokes of it are pretty self-evident: Ship hits rough seas, straps break, pipes roll.  It’s certainly a painful loss for the shipping company, but it’s a heck of a thing to see on video.
