Wilhelmsen Ships Service To Provide Safety Services To Thome Ships Worldwide

Thome Ship Management, a Singapore-based company provides all integrated shipping services under one roof.  They serve from agency to technical consultancy and include offshore oil and gas structure management.  Their clientele is primarily from Europe, Scandinavia, across Asia, Japan and Korea.

On July 22, 2015, Thome Ship Management entered into a safety service agreement with Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS). 

This safety service agreement will help them with its worldwide maritime trading, to maintain its vessels compliant with safety rules and protocols that vary from port to port, country to country.  The agreement will ensure that WSS will monitor all due dates proactively and plan service visits in any port that a Thome vessel may be berthed.

WSS is  headquartered  at Lysaker, outside Oslo, Norway.  They have a wide maritime network comprising of their services at  2,200 ports in 125 countries.

Thome can avail of WSS’s service technicians located worldwide, who carry out a wide range of safety operations including fire rescue, fire fighting equipment such as CO2 high pressure systems, portable fire extinguishers, hydrants and fire hoses, inflatable life jackets, smoke sampling systems and portable gas detectors.  WSS, in 2014 have a record of making product deliveries to  25,000 vessels and handled 70,000 port calls.

General Manager for WSS, Singapore Mr.Harald Lundestad is confident that this mutual agreement will result in greatly improving client satisfaction by their efficiency in safety management.

WSS is an ISO 9001 accredited company that also ensures that all their service stations worldwide operate in accordance with IACS, UR, Z17 approvals and governance.  WSS operations have also the approval and accreditation by DNV GL, Korean Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS, Lloyds Register, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and RINA.
