12,000 TEU Capacity New Container Depot by ONE at the Rotterdam Port

In a major development, Japanese container line joint venture Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced that they have opened a dedicated container depot in the Port of Rotterdam with the Kramer Group, reports Seatrade Maritime News.

  • The newly opened depot located in Rotterdam Maasvlakte has a storage capacity of 12,000 teu, with 70 reefer plugs across an area of 100,000 sq m. 
  • The depot creates a hub for laden and empty containers close to all the major container terminals in Rotterdam port.

What does it mean for the port?

Andre Kramer, ceo of Kramer Group commented, “We consider this unique concept as a big step forward in our partnership with Ocean Network Express and look forward to similar projects with them going forward”.

The terminal is equipped with two reach stackers, three empty handlers and two gantry cranes.
