David Bowie dies of cancer aged 69
Singer David Bowie has died. He was 69 and had been battling cancer for 18 months.
He was one of the most influential musicians of his era.
On his last birthday, just the last friday, the singer released his latest album Blackstar.
Bowie is said to have suffered a heart attack in 2004, since then he largely stopped making public appearances. His last live performance was at a New York charity concert in 2006.
