22 Crew Saved From a Listing Merchant Vessel

Gale force weather in the Bay of Biscay caused a cargo ship to list on 26th afternoon.

In a dramatic operation 22 seafarers were rescued from the merchant vessel by the UK Coastguard.

It is reported that the cargo shift resulted in the vessel listing up to 50° degrees to starboard.  All crew are safe and listed ship has been towed.

The cargo ship was travelling from Gabon (Africa) to Le Havre (France).
