The EU warned too many vaccine booster shots might not be good for our bodies, reports Deseret News.

Impact of booster shots

More COVID-19 vaccine booster shots might not be the proper way forward for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, according to the European Medicines Agency.

European Union regulators said too many COVID-19 vaccine booster shots could affect our immune system, exposing us to even more sickness, according to Bloomberg.

Booster shots every fourth months might “eventually weaken the immune system and tire out people,” Bloomberg reported.

What to do?

Countries might want to leave more time between booster shots and make sure they’re given out during specific cold seasons in their country, the EMA said.

The fourth vaccine shot

This comes as speculation has started about a fourth COVID-19 vaccine shot to tackle the omicron variant.

Israel has started to release a fourth COVID-19 vaccine shot, BBC News reports.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House medical adviser for the coronavirus, said a fourth COVID-19 vaccine shot is possible for the American people, but it’s still unclear.

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said the vaccine developer will have an omicron-specific vaccine available by early spring.

What’s next?

Scientists have started to see signs that the omicron wave is peaking. Keeping an eye on the trends may offer a clue as to whether or not a fourth shot will be available for all Americans.
