In an information to Starr News, by the security force at the Aflao border, the ship with the inscription Barca Lome was anchored on the sea between the Togolese capital Lome and Aflao, but had its anchors broken by strong tidal winds, which drifted it on to the shores of Aflao.
A joint team of Ghanaian and Togolese naval officers, however managed to tow the stray ship by using another vessel later on the day. The ship was reportedly washed ashore in the noon by tidal waves arising out of recent heavy downpour in the Volta region.
