Attempt to seize the vessel with gun shots : Efforts of Iranian Navy in vain



Alpine Eternity, a Singapore flagged tanker,was surrounded by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy ships with a warning shots to seize the vessel.  The oil product tanker was transiting the Gulf, issued a radio call for help attended by the United Arab Emirates, which gave an immediate response by dispatching coast guard vessels.

Once they came in the Iranian Navy disappeared from the scene.  The reason might be an attempt to settle a legal dispute said U.S. officials which might be the liability for damaging Iranian owned oil platform on March 22.

Details of the ship:

Managed by the Norwegian tanker operator, Transpetrol, the destination of the ship is Jebel Ali.The 46100 tonne vessel is currently anchored at Dubai according to the vessel tracking data.
