According to the Royal Gazette, the containers that were stuck on a cargo vessel were removed.

What happened?

On February 6, the containers that were stuck on a cargo ship Somers Isles due to crane breakdown at Hamilton docks were removed.

According to the CEO of Polaris Holdings, some items were not removed from the ship because one of the docks’ two cranes broke down. The crane is one of two used to unload ships.

The perishables and other priority items were taken off the ship on Wednesday.

Cargo ship moved

The Somers Isles had to be moved away from the offloading area to allow another ship to dock to February 7 and the remainder of its container load were removed on February 8.

Mr. Jones, whose firm is the parent of dock operators Stevedoring Services, said: “The broken crane did not halt dock operations but just slows things down a bit“.
