Argentina’s port of Necochea/Quequen has implemented a new governance that necessitates all ocean liners arriving at the port to submit their customs declaration and stores list in Spanish.  The authorities introduced this new regulation on 16th June 2015 for a trial period of 30 days.  Earlier, as it was not officially notified, few ships were unable to get on with their custom clearance causing delays in cargo movement.  The local shipping organisations are trying to persuade the customs authorities to reverse the policy which is currently in action.
