Eight Missing as Ship Capsizes in North China

On August 27, eight people have been reported missing after a vessel capsized near the city of Tangshan in north China’s Hebei Province.

What happened?

The unnamed vessel reportedly capsized in the sea near the city of Tangshan, north China’s Hebei Province. The details of the vessel are not available as of now. There were 12 crew members onboard the vessel when it capsized.

Four people rescued

The maritime search and rescue center in Hebei were notified about the incident. A SAR was dispatched to the scene of the incident and rescued four crew members. The center dispatched helicopters, ships and divers to help with the search and rescue operation, which is still underway.

A total of eight crew members were reported to be missing and search is on to locate the missing members.

Investigation launched

An investigation has been initiated to determine the sequence of events leading to capsizing of the vessel.
