Electric Problem Disables Panamax Bulker

A bulk carrier encountered an electric problem and was disabled on Aug 21 in Indian ocean east of northern Madagascar, reports Maritime Bulletin.

What happened?

Bulk carrier YASA UNITY was disabled after she encountered electric problem on Aug 21 in Indian ocean east of northern Madagascar.

The bulk carrier was en route from India to Port Elizabeth, South Africa. 

Problem fixed?

As of Aug 27, she was still drifting and crew couldn’t fix the problem.

The owner contracted tug BOKA SUMMIT (IMO 9315575) for towage, ETA YASA UNITY Aug 27 or 28.
