Freighter Sank After Distress Call, 1 Missing

Vietnamese freighter sank in the South China Sea after issuing a distress signal, reports Maritime Bulletin.

What happened?

General cargo ship issued a distress signal and shortly after that, sank in South China sea at around 2100 UTC Apr 14 (0400 LT Apr 15). 

The vessel was some 30 nm south of Vung Tau, Vietnam, while en route from Haiphong to Southern Vietnam. 

Rescue operations

According to reports, 10 crew on board the freighter were rescued. 1 was reported to be missing.
