Hapag-Lloyd and Intelligent Cargo Systems have entered into a technology partnership on the use of real-time port call visibility and automated notifications, reports the Intelligent Cargo Systems website.

CargoMate software

German carrier Hapag-Lloyd will utilise Intelligent Cargo Systems’ fleet performance platform “CargoMate” for-

  • More detailed information on its vessels’ port calls, as well as
  • Receiving notifications on important port events such as estimated time of completion, enabling fleet managers to dynamically manage coastal schedules.

By having a real-time view of every port call on the CargoMate platform, we’re able to observe port calls in greater detail without requesting progress updates from the terminal or local agent. It has uncovered new cost-savings, and will continue our drive to improve performance and visibility for our customers,” said Jorn Springer, senior director, network operations at Hapag-Lloyd.

Efficient and safe crew operations

The CargoMate software will allow Hapag-Lloyd to enable crew to monitor operations more efficiently and safely, while capturing new data to further improve their route and vessel performance.

The data is also able to unlock new route optimisation insights to help shipping companies reduce fuel costs and improve environmental impact.

London-based Intelligent Cargo Systems said the partnership with Hapag-Lloyd helps reinforce its position as a leader in the development of port call optimisation technology.
