Jeda Launches SpaceX-Inspired Broomstick

  • SpaceX successfully launched 47 Starlink satellites to orbit yesterday.
  • The American Broomstick is a medium-sized broomstick that is made up of two pieces with a reusable stave.
  • The 50-inch broomstick is also inspired by the SpaceX Falcon 9’s second-stage separation.

Jeda, a company that provides aftermarket parts for the Tesla Model 3 and Y, launched the SpaceX-inspired American Broomstick as reported by Clean Technica.

SpaceX

But first, a little background information. Yesterday, SpaceX successfully launched 47 Starlink satellites into space. Elon Musk afterwards posted a screenshot of a Reuters report. Dmitry Rogozin, Russia’s Head of Roscosmos, claimed in an interview on the Rossiya-24 TV network that Russia will no longer supply the US with rocket engines and that the US can fly on “broomsticks or anything” instead. Never mind that Russia’s technology is obsolete in comparison to SpaceX’s and that SpaceX is a US firm.

American Broomstick

I inquired of the Jeda team as to what prompted them to create their American Broomstick. They explained to me that it was their way of paying tribute to SpaceX and NASA while also assisting Ukrainians in need.

“Previously, Elon Musk has released some humorous items that addressed difficulties, such as the short shorts. We wanted to do the same with the backhanded ‘broomstick’ comments. This was our way of paying tribute to SpaceX and NASA while simultaneously providing assistance to those in need in Ukraine and neighbouring nations.”

The American Broomstick is a medium-sized broomstick with a reusable stave that is made up of two segments.

The SpaceX Dragon Capsul inspired the handmade handle. It’s the world’s first broomstick inspired by SpaceX.

The SpaceX Falcon 9’s second-stage separation inspired the 50-inch broomstick. The broom’s head can be removed. The stick is made of aluminium and has the NASA lettering “American Broomstick” sprayed on it. It is also made in the United States. Jeda is selling them for $20.22 and contributing a portion of the revenues to the consumers’ choice of humanitarian assistance fund organisations.
