General cargo ship suffered mechanical failure in southern Bosphorus in the Kurucesme, during northbound transit, reports Maritime Bulletin. 

What happened?

General cargo ship I SENGUL suffered undefined mechanical failure in southern Bosphorus in the Kurucesme area, at around 2200 LT Sep 15, during her northbound transit. 

Started drifting

The ship started to drift towards anchored nearby passenger ships. Collision was avoided after the situation was taken under control by the tug and SAR boat’s.

Ship anchored

The ship was taken back and was anchored at Kumkapi anchorage, Marmara sea, Istanbul.
