MOL Offers Close-up Look at Careers in Maritime Industry For School Students

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) welcomed 10 students from a Tokyo junior high school for a workplace visit to the head office in Toranomon on March 4, reports an article published on their website.

About the event

The event was part of a career education program for junior high school students, aimed at helping the young people design their future and examine various career possibilities through explanations of corporate activities and workplace visits. 

MOL employees explained the role of the ocean shipping industry in social infrastructure and the company’s different businesses, and its efforts to promote safe operation and reduce the environmental impact of its operations, while interweaving with their insights on working in the maritime field.

MOL takes a proactive stance in providing educational support activities to help students gain understanding and familiarity with the significant roles of the ocean shipping industry, and encourages them to consider maritime careers in the future. It makes ongoing efforts to build the younger generation’s awareness of ocean shipping’s critical roles as both a lifeline to industry and a supplier of everyday essentials.
