1651

The MSC Seascape is currently being built in Italy at the Fincantieri shipyard. The ship was floated out of the dry dock for the first time this week, marking a major construction milestone as reported by Cruise Fever.

MCS Seascape

MSC Seascape will be the cruise line’s second Seaside EVO class ship, with a gross tonnage of slightly under 170,000 gross tonnes and a capacity of 5,877 passengers. With nearly 140,000 square feet of outside area, the cruise ship will be ideal for cruising from Miami to the Caribbean.

Attributes

On each of MSC Seascape’s four Wärtsilä 14V 46F engines, selective catalytic reduction systems will reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90% by converting the gas into harmless nitrogen and water, as well as hybrid exhaust gas cleaning systems that will remove 98% of sulphur oxide from ship emissions.

The cruise ship will be outfitted with best-in-class wastewater treatment systems that meet or exceed the purification standards of most wastewater treatment facilities on land, advanced waste management systems, US Coast Guard-approved ballast water treatment systems, cutting-edge technology for preventing oil discharges from machinery spaces, and a variety of energy-saving enhancements ranging from heat recovery systems to LED lighting.

MSC Seascape will have the following features:

  • 2,270 staterooms, including prized aft suites, in 12 different types of cabins and suites with balconies.
  • There are 11 eating locations, 19 bars and lounges, and numerous ‘Al Fresco’ dining and drinking alternatives.
  • There are six swimming pools onboard, including a beautiful aft infinity pool with breathtaking ocean views.
  • With nearly 32,000 square feet of space and panoramic ocean vistas from the ship’s foredecks, the MSC Yacht Club will be the largest and most luxurious ship in the MSC Cruises fleet.
  • A 1,772-foot-long waterfront walkway brings you even closer to the lake.
  • At deck 16, there is a beautiful glass-floored Bridge of Sighs with a unique vantage point of the ocean.

MSC Cruises is planning a major expansion in the United States, beginning in 2023 with the opening of a new cruise terminal in Miami that will be able to accommodate three ships per day.
