Thi Ha Tun, a citizen of Myanmar, had fallen and lost consciousness in the cargo hold of the ship, which was located 130 nautical miles off the Đà Nẵng coast.  The ship’s agent sent a message to the Đà Nẵng-based Maritime Co-ordination and Rescue Centre No. 2 (MRCC2) around 12.20pm on April 20.

A rescue ship with two doctors from the city’s medical emergency centre was dispatched to the scene.  The cargo ship was located nearly two hours after the rescue ship left the centre’s port.

The doctor checked the crewmember and declared that he had died two hours before.  Hence, the rescue ship carried the corpse of the victim to the city’s General Hospital.
