Ship Captain Stands Accused Of Smuggling Cocaine

The captain of the bulk carrier INTERLINK VERACITY has been accused of attempting to smuggle 320 kilograms of cocaine into Australia, says an article published in Maritime Bulletin.

Revealing details

The specifics of Captaine’s incarceration were revealed at a press conference organised by Australian police. 

On May 14, as the ship was anchored at Hedland Anchorage in Port Hedland, Western Australia, a 51-year-old Montenegrin captain allegedly threw bags containing cocaine overboard.

Forensic examination 

Two individuals in a small boat collected the packages, and both have been detained. 

A forensic investigation of the ship captain’s cell phone showed messages related to the drug smuggling attempt, according to police
