285 Kilos Cocaine Attached to Hull

1848

On January 3, the Mexican law enforcement discovered 285 kilos of cocaine strapped to the hull of a cargo vessel which was docked at port.

What happened?

The vessel ‘Cap Palliser’ was intercepted and checked after the Mexican law enforcement agencies were tipped off on a possible cocaine shipment on board the vessel.

The vessel was intercepted upon arrival to the port and was searched, and six cases were found attached to underwater hull, containing in total 285 kilos of cocaine.

Crew unaware:

An official announcement was made and the crew members were unaware of the consignment attached to the ship’s vessel and it was merely used for transportation purpose. The consignment was scheduled to be delivered to Long Beach, California.

After recording the statements from the crew members, the vessel was allowed to leave the Lazaro Cardenas port.
