Dona Carmela the Chilean flagged cargo tanker spills fuel cargo while unloading at Quintero port.

Fuel Cargo

The 78m long tanker ship on Thursday morning suffered a small crack in its cargo tank No. 2 at portside.  Hence, it spilled a moderate amount of its fuel cargo into the waters at Quintero port in Chile.

The moored 2580 Deadweight ton (DWT) tanker was unloading its cargo, IFO 380 fuel oil, onto barges; suddenly a small crack probed on its portside No. 2 Cargo tank.

There is no definite information about the amount of fuel spilled.  The remaining fuel from the damaged tank has been shifted to other tanks.  The cleaning operation is under process.
