The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) announces that the first draft restriction announced in Advisory to Shipping A-12-2016, and in effect since April 18, 2016, is being suspended until further notice.

Therefore, effective immediately, the maximum authorized draft for vessels transiting the Panamax locks is set at 12.04m (39.5 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW).

The weather forecast for the remainder of the rainy season indicates that no further draft restrictions for the Panamax locks will be required.  Nevertheless, Gatun Lake level will continue to be monitored in case restrictions are necessary.
