On May 17, a Very Large Container Ship was involved in an accident at the New York Newark port.

What happened?

The Very Large Container Ship ‘Tucapel’ met an accident at the Newark port located in New York.

It was reported to have broke away from its moorings while making a berthing maneuver and started losing control.

Anchored at port

To arrest the movement of the Very Large Container Ship, it was forced to drop its anchor then subsequently stabilized and finally secured with the assistance of four tug boats.

The damages resulting from the accident are being assessed and an investigation has been initiated to look into the matter.
