On May 3, the passengers of Carnival cruise ship were in for a surprise when a water line break onboard the vessel flooding fifty staterooms.

What happened?

The cruise ship ‘Carnival Dream’ was on a seven-day cruise on the Western Caribbean when a water line broke onboard the ship’s fire suppression system.

A video recorded by a passenger showed gallons of water rushing out of pipes in the hallway situated on Deck 9 which flooded the hallways and the crew members were seen frantically attempting to bail it out with buckets.

Rooms flooded

Nearly fifty staterooms located onboard the cruise ship were flooded with several silverware and musical instruments crashing down on the floor. The cruise line was quick to clean up the mess, and assured that the next cruise would not be affected.

Passengers to be refunded

The Cruise line assured that the passengers affected by the water line break will receive a 100 percent refund, 50 percent credit toward a future cruise trip and were given the option to fly home.

Carnival released a statement, “We appreciate our guests’ understanding and sincerely apologize. We also thank our crew members for their quick action and hard work.”
