According to Taiwan Maritime and Ports Bureau, in the morning of Aug 23, three more ships were grounded by a storm near Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Vessels affected
Container one is JIN HUA, grounded as of 0500 UTC on Aug 24 and is still aground, north of Kaohsiung, in Tainan city area.
Container two is UNLIMITED 2, grounded as of 0500 UTC on Aug 24 and is still aground, north of Kaohsiung, halfway between Kaohsiung and Tainan.
Product tanker DRAGONARIA was grounded as of 0500 UTC Aug 24 and is still aground, on Kaohsiung southern mole, at port’s entrance.
Work in progress
Emergency meeting was set to take place on Aug 24, to work out and implement salvage plans, for each grounded ship.
In total, 7 ships were aground as of morning Aug 24: Container ship JIN HUA; Container ship UNLIMITED 2; Product tanker DRAGONARIA; General cargo ship TAI CANG HU 1 (IMO 9142423); General cargo ship AN LI 669 (IMO 8794827); General cargo ship SHUN HONG (IMO 8748232); General cargo ship CHANG LONG 68 (IMO 8793744).
