Asia Bunker Forum is an international industry event, covering all the major bunker markets in Asia like Singapore, China, UAE, Japan, Korea and India, etc.  In the past 8 years, ABF’s footprint has spread across Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Singapore, which was established as an effective platform among bunker suppliers, traders and shipowners.  ENMORE has organized the “8th Asia Bunker Forum 2015” in Singapore on 10th-11th September.

Keynote Speakers:

Ms. Priya Narain Balchandani, Director, Global Energy Research, Standard Chartered.

She joined the Bank in 2010.  Priya has more than 15 years of experience in the energy industry, starting at Chevron’s San Ramon refinery in California.  Priya subsequently worked in Singapore for Morgan Stanley covering Asia Pacific oil and gas equities and at Merrill Lynch Commodities as a Fundamental Analyst.  She speaks at investor and corporate conferences, sharing her insights on energy fundamentals and their impact on trading prices.  She holds a degree in Chemistry and Industrial Management and a Master’s of Science in Polymer Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University, US.

 

Mr. Yaw Yan Chong, Director, Thomson Reuters Oil Research & Forecasts in Asia.

Yaw-chong.pngMr. Yaw Yan Chong, is the Director of Thomson Reuters oil Research & Forecasts in Asia, a part of its commodities Research & Forecast Division.  He is also the inspiration behind the Asia oil flows assessment module, that provides fundamental assessments of cargo flows across the oil barrel to and from demand and supply regions.  

After having learnt the fundamentals of supply & demand in the more than 10 years, he has been in the Oil industry starting out as a price editor in Platts, being an energy correspondent with Reuters and also spent some time as a trading analyst in Merrill Lynch.

 

Dr. Christina Zhuang, Consultant, Drewry Maritime Services.

Dr. Christina Zhuang is a consultant with Drewry.  She has undertaken and managed consultancy projects due diligence, port traffic forecast, freight procurement strategy, restructuring and feasibility studies, for clients in both port and shipping sectors.  Prior to joining Drewry, Christina has six years of Research and Management consulting experience in leading Management consultancies including Droege group Advisory & Capital, and Ernst & Young. She served clients across a broad range of industries in the past.  Her expertise lies in pre-deal due diligence, strategic planning, market entry and business re-structuring.  Christina earned her Doctorate in Business strategy & Policy from National University of Singapore, BA in Economics from Renmin University of China.

Capt. Yunlong (Joe) Zhou, Regional Credit Manager, Bomin Bunker Group.

4Capt. Yunlong Zhou, has more than 20 years experience in the shipping and bunkering industry.  He was a Master Mariner and he is a chartered member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK as well as Visiting Professor of Gimie University.

Mr. Zhou has been Regional Credit Manager of Bomin Bunker Group since  July 2011.  The Hamburg – Headquartered Bomin Group is a part of Marquard Bahls, and one of the largest BUnker Suppliers in the World.  Mr. Zhou is responsible for the Credit Management of  the Group customers in the far and Middle East Regions.

Previously, Mr. Zhou worked with Lloyds List Intelligence (LLI) where he was the Lead Analyst and his last positions included Head of Analyst Teams in the Asia Pacific Region and Interim Head of the Global Credit Reporting Teams.

Prior to joining LLI, Mr. Zhou completed an M.Sc with distintion in International Logistics from Plymouth University in the UK.  Prior to this Mr. Zhou was the Shipping Manager in a Chinese Shipping Company, where he was responsible for the chartering and operations of number of  handy sized dry cargo vessels.  At the beginning of his Career, Mr.Zhou also had years of experience working at Sea.  He was employed by a subsidiary of Sino-trans, where he was sent to work on different types of ships owned by Various companies in Mainland China (EG Sino-Trans), Taiwan and Japan.

Ms. Elsie Tang, Senior Consultant, DNV GL Maritime Advisory.

Elsie obtained her BSc degree in Maritime Studies from Singapore Nanyang Technological University and BI Norwegian School of Management.  Since joining DNV GL she has delivered ship surveys, maritime environmental solutions and LNG technology qualifications in four global offices; Singapore, Oslo, New York and Perth.  Since returning to DNV GL Singapore, she has focused on the application of LNG as a marine fuel and she was a key member of the prominent Joint Industry Project on Singapore LNG Bunkering.  Other key projects she has led include technical and financial feasibility assessment of LNG bunkering in a number of Asian and Oceania ports, technical advice on ships using LNG as fuel, bunkering logistic model development, bunkering operational procedures guidance and LNG fuel demand forecasts.  Elsie is a member of the Singapore LNG bunkering Pro Tem Committee, established in 2014, to develop common standards for LNG bunkering in Singapore.

Mr. Li Gang, Deputy Secretary-General, Shanghai International Shipping Institute.

Li Gang, born in April 1962, majoring in International Shipping Management at Shanghai Maritime University, is the Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai International Shipping Institute.  He has managed or contributed to more than 50 well-received and highly applicable strategic shipping management programs and research projects endorsed by China’s Ministry of Transport, Shanghai Municipal Government, as well as shipping companies and port authorities.  Having served 17 years at the high managerial level at domestically renowned shipping exchange organization, ocean shipping company and famous international ship management company, he accumulates rich experience both in shipping management practicing and research and university teaching as well.  He has been selected as one the soft scientific project researcher and a member of the expert tank at the ministerial level.  He also worked as a specialist in Shanghai Investment Consulting Corporation.  He was appointed as an editorial board member of China Shipping Development Report.  He is now Researcher of the Development Research Center of Shanghai Municipal Government.

Dr. Ram Vis, President, Viswa Lab

Dr. Ram Vis whose name Viswa Lab carries is first a Marine Engineer and has a doctorate in Metallurgical engineering and a Masters in Internal Combustion engines.  He is on the Roster of experts of the IMO (International Maritime organization), a consultant to the department of Transportation (Maritime Administration – Federal Government of USA) and a Member of CIMAC working group for Heavy fuels and the lube oils.  ASTM-D2 committees and INTERTANKO bunker sub-committee.

Dr. Vis has personally inspected over 4000 ships as a Classification Surveyor, has had many publications in highly regarded Journals and he is globally referred to as the “BUNKER GURU”.  After his career with American Bureau of Shipping(ABS), he worked as a scientist with NASA for six years before starting the Lab.

Viswa Lab is the 2nd biggest lab in bunker fuel testing in terms of the samples tested and has been selected as one of the four IMO testing labs.  Viswa Lab is also involved with Energy Efficiency, Emission reduction, Scrubbers, EEOI and Instrumentation for all these.
