What happened?
Several explosions were reported on board of Aframax crude oil tanker JAG LEELA on May 11, followed by major fire with thick black smoke.
The Tanker was dry docked at shipyard Belawan, Medan, Malacca Strait, northern Sumatra, Indonesia for repair works.
Workers suffered burns
According to reports several workers suffered burns and were hospitalized. An unknown number of workers were reported to have been trapped inside.
Fire spread to nearby vessel
Fire spread to a nearby vessel. Dozens of fire engines and tugs with water cannons were deployed to get the fire under control.
