Cargo Ship Broke In Two and Sank

A recent Maritime Bulletin news report about two different cargo ship accidents in SEA where a cargo ship broke and sank while another cargo ship collided with a fishing vessel.

About the accidents

  1. Cargo ship broke and sank

General cargo ship sank in the Gulf of Tonkin.

General cargo ship in load broke in two and sank at night Jul 13. Rough weather was reported to be the cause. 

A nearby fishing vessel rescued all crew and they are reported to be safe.

2. Freighter collide with fishing vessel

Japanese freighter collided with a fishing vessel, Taiwan Strait.

General cargo ship collided with a fishing vessel in the morning Jul 14 in Taiwan Strait, while en route to Japan. 

After the collision, the cargo ship offered assistance to the damaged fishing vessel. The vessel, with bow damages managed to reach its base port under its own power. 

Freighter interrupted the voyage and arrived at Taichung anchorage, for investigation.
