Sea-rail cargo volume at Ningbo-Zhoushan port exceeded 810,000 teu as the end of October, surpassing last year’s total volume with two months of 2020 to go, reports Seatarde Maritime News.
Sea-rail volumes on the rise
Based on the statistics released by Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, it has handled over 810,000 teu sea-rail containers as the end of October, an increase of 23% year-on-year.
This year the port launched several new sea-rail services and optimized its sea-rail transportation network, cooperating with inland industry players and shipping companies to promote sea-rail service capability, said Ningbo-Zhoushan port.
Cargo handling
- Ningbo-Zhoushan port expects to handle 72.69m tons cargo and 2.85m teu containers respectively in October, an increase of 4.9% and 16.9% year-on-year.
- The port also saw handled an estimated an increase of 19.1% of crude oil shipments.
