Cargo Vessel Attacked, 10 Crew Kidnapped

Ten crew members have been kidnapped from general cargo ship off Gulf of Guinea, reports Maritime Bulletin.

Cargo ship attacked

Cargo ship was attacked at around 1300 UTC Nov 26 in Nigerian waters, Gulf of Guinea, some 10 nm off Bayelsa State coast. The attacked general cargo ship, MILAN, was en route from Koko Nigeria to Douala Cameroon.

The ship stopped and started to drift at night Nov 25, reason unknown. She drifted to a position where she was attacked and understood, boarded.

AIS signal was missing from 1204 UTC Nov 26 until 1410 UTC Nov 26, when signal reappeared, the ship was still adrift.

The ship is trading in Gulf of Guinea waters since early October this year.

UPDATE 1600 UTC (27 Nov): 10 crew reported kidnapped.
