What happened?
Ultra Large Ore Carrier NSU CARAJAS contacted two, understood berthed, ships, while maneuvering to berth at Ponta da Madeira Maritime Terminal, Sao Luis, northeast Brazil, between 1540 and 1630 UTC Nov 28.
Damages reported
All three ships were damaged though the extent is still unknown. Photo of one of damaged ships, Capesize bulk carrier STAR JANNI, hints at serious damages.
Inspection underway
All three ships were taken to outer anchorage and anchored for inspection, probably temporary repairs.
About the vessels
The third ship contacted by NSU CARAJAS, wasn’t identified, but understood she is also bulk carrier, Capesize or bigger type.
