TASS reported earlier that five affected seamen from the April were hospitalized.

Chemicals carried on board of April vessel can be the cause of intoxication for seamen from the ship evacuated to Port Kavkaz, the Russian Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport told TASS.

“The cargo on board, rather than food intoxication, could be the cause of feeling sick,” the press service said. The vessel carried ferrosilicon – the chemical capable of liberating gas when becoming wet or stored improperly, the agency said.
